Steve Rapp, DVM

Steve Rapp, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Steve Rapp was born in the small North Texas town of Chillicothe. He grew up on a farm/ranch in the community of Farmers Valley. As a young boy working with his father on the farm, Steve became interested in agriculture and livestock. He pursued those interests after high school studying animal sciences at Texas A&M in College Station. There, he received his Master’s Degree in Animal Sciences – Meat Sciences and Chemistry, where he did the original studies in vacuum packing. After that, he applied to the College of Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M and graduated in 1976.

Steve is happily married to Laura Mijangos-Rapp, with whom he has a blended family of five children and four lovely grandchildren. He enjoys many hobbies such as muscle cars, building metal frames for Laura’s art, doing yard work, and managing the family farms he grew up in. Dr. Rapp loves associating with his clients while serving them as a local veterinarian in Boerne, TX. He has special interest in diagnostic medicine and surgery. He thanks God every day for his health and the many blessings in his life.

Angeline Arreola, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Angeline Arreola is an associate veterinarian at Boerne Veterinary Clinic. She was raised in Kingsville, TX, where she received her Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science from Texas A&M University – Kingsville. While studying in Kingsville, she was involved with wildlife genetic research on feral pigs and gray foxes with the Caesar Kleberg Wildlife Research Institute and USDA-APHIS Wildlife Services. She graduated from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine, where she earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine and developed her passion for small animal medicine. Her interests included internal medicine and surgery.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time outdoors with her family and friends. She married her best friend, Chelo Arreola in Boerne in 2011. They are the proud parents of two beautiful daughters, Genevieve and Sofia. They share their home with a sassy but lovable cat named Mimosa and a sweet Collie named Bogart. Dr. Arreola loves developing relationships with clients and their pets and provides compassionate care to animals in the Boerne community.

Reena Johnson, DVM

Reena Johnson, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Reena Johnson is an associate veterinarian at Boerne Veterinary Clinic. She is from Waco, TX and attended Texas A&M University where she earned her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine, graduating cum laude. She also attended Texas A&M University for undergraduate studies, receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Biology and a minor in Psychology. During her time at veterinary school, Reena’s focus of study was small animal medicine with a special interest in internal medicine, ultrasonography, and preventative care.

When Reena is not working, she is spending time with her husband and their two pets. They have a schnauzer mix named Ellie and a cat named Fig. Together they spend their free time hiking in all the great state parks around Boerne. Dr. Johnson is delighted to be at Boerne Veterinary Clinic and enjoys building lasting relationships with clients and their pets.

Tori Mellin, DVM

Tori Mellin, DVM

Veterinarian

Dr. Tori Mellin is an associate veterinarian at Boerne Vet Clinic. She hails all the way from Arlington, VA but has a special connection to Boerne and the clinic as she is Dr. Rapp’s niece. Dr. Mellin obtained her veterinary degree at Virginia Tech up in Blacksburg, VA. During her time in school, she became interested in small animal internal medicine, orthopedic surgery, ophthalmology and has a special interest in canine behavior.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her boyfriend, Logan, and hiking with their two dogs, Katari and Trooper. Trooper and Dr. Mellin also enjoy competing in canine agility trials and can’t wait to see more of what Boerne has to offer. Dr. Mellin loves building long-lasting relationships with clients and their pets and to be there to offer advice from puppy and kitten-hood into senior life.

Nancy joined Boerne Veterinary Clinic in March of 2017. She earned a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of Texas at San Antonio. She enjoys reading books and spending time with her family.

Cindy has been working at Boerne Veterinary Clinic since the fall of 2007, and is no stranger to the medical field. She worked at the University Hospital for fourteen years as an X-ray technician before taking a position at Benefit Planners, a medical insurance company. These experiences helped her transition into the veterinary field. She has deep compassion for our clients and their four-legged extended families.

Taylor started working with Boerne Veterinary Clinic at the beginning of 2016. With a strong passion for helping animals, she gained technical experience with us and has become a very valuable member of our team. After leaving for a short time to finish school, we’re happy she’s back! Taylor has two dogs, Luna, a Dachshund, and Bade, a Mastiff/Great Pyranees mix.
Shannon McDonald

Shannon started at Boerne Veterinary Clinic in January of 2018. She and her family moved from Maryland in 2015. Though new to Boerne, Shannon is not new to the veterinary field as she has 16 years of experience in a veterinary hospital in Eldersburg, Maryland. When she is not helping to care for your furry family members, she can be found in her kitchen baking up goodies or on adventures with her family, husband Steve, son Jesse, daughter Vivian and Dachshund Gracie!

Abby started working with Boerne Veterinary Clinic in 2018. Her first love of animals began in middle school when volunteering her weekends helping special needs students with hippo-therapy. Her dedication turned into a personal love for horse riding. Animals have always been an important part of her life. She enjoys being outdoors with her boyfriend Jared and her fur baby Gibson

Monique began working at Boerne Veterinary Clinic in June of 2019. Although new to Boerne Vet, Monique has 5 years of experience working in the veterinary field at a mixed practice clinic where she worked with everything from kittens to cattle. Monique studied animal science at West Texas A&M where she met her husband, Levi. After graduation, they moved back to Monique’s hometown of Bandera and began building their family homestead. Monique has many hobbies including spending time riding her two horses JD and Scooter, raising chickens, and fishing with her husband. Monique also has 2 dogs; Yoda and Duke, and 3 cats; Daisy, Chaps, and Tiger.

Courtney is an aspiring veterinarian currently enrolled at the University of San Antonio majoring in Biology. She recently joined the team in October and is excited to grow in the veterinary field with her new family here at Boerne Veterinary Clinic. Madellaine Costello

Madellaine grew up in Rhode Island where her love of horses and all things animal started at a young age. Texas has been home since 1981 and where she graduated from UTSA with an MA, Educational Leadership, and a BA, American Studies, with a minor in Art History and Criticism.  While in school Madellaine worked as a veterinary technician and operations manager which is where her special interest in organizational culture and team building started.

Madellaine and her husband Raymond live in Fair Oaks Ranch where they raised their two children Ray and Anna, and of course pets. Her hobbies include, but not limited to, pottery,  jewelry making, horseback riding, golf, reading, love for history, and period piece movies.
